Thank you San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles Magazine for featuring me in their “Expert Advice” section. It’s always an honor to be included in this magazine.
When I was asked how I like to spruce up my home for springtime, my first thought was fresh flowers. It’s the easiest way to perk up a room, add a little color, maybe a little scent, and well….. flowers just make people feel better.
It doesn’t have to be a fancy arrangement. A few flowers in a pretty dish will do! Take a look around your yard for what might be blooming right now. Apartment/condo dwellers, you may be surprised at the amount of flowers that can be grown in pots. All it takes is a sunny patio or window sill.
TIP – If you happen to have a Costco nearby, this is my favorite go-to spot for large bunches of beautiful flowers at the lowest prices. You could also try your local farmers market, wholesale florist, or check out what is on sale at your local grocery store.
Go ahead and treat yourself. You deserve it!

Mint grows wild on my yard, I add it to all my arrangements and they smell yummy.
What a great idea, Amy! I think I’ll go raid my herb garden!
