I just got back from the Interior Design Bloggers Conference; such fun and so informative! The conference was held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles (more on this historic hotel in my next blog!). There is soooo much to tell, but I’ll stick with the major highlights.
Inspiring Speakers :
Martyn Lawrence Bullard (designer to the stars, furniture, rug, fabric, and accessory line designer) – funny, elegant, down-to-earth, extremely likeable!
Bunny Williams (acclaimed interior designer, author, home furnishings shop owner, furniture designer) – intelligent, informative, inspirational, highly respected (standing ovation)
There were many, many more speakers that were all informative and interesting. Click on “rock stars of the blog world” to see who was there! Each of them was open and honest about their careers and what worked for them and what didn’t.
The one thing that stood out the most for me during this conference was just how nice interior design bloggers are. I mean, really nice! I have never seen such friendly and out-going people at a conference before. All of them were honest, non-pretentious and ready to share their ideas. I think this is due to the fact that there is room for everyone in the blog world. We are all so unique and our blogs reflect that.
This was a major theme throughout the conference – be yourself, do what you love, follow your passion. This really applies to people everywhere, doesn’t it?
